Your First Visit

Your first visit with us will include:

  • Comprehensive oral examination
  • Full mouth digital x-rays
  • Oral cancer screening
  • Oral hygiene instruction
  • One-on-one consultation with our dentist to discuss your needs, concerns, goals, and treatment options

During your visit, we will answer any and all questions about your oral health. We will provide a detailed financial consultation to help you with staging treatments to be timed effectively and affordably.

FAQ

Do you take insurance?

Yes, we accept all insurance plans. Our in-network insurers include Delta Dental of Oregon as a PPO and Premiere provider. If you have this plan, be sure to check that it is a PPO or Premier policy. All other policies will be billed as an out-of-network provider.

Can I still come to your office if my insurance is considered out of network?

Yes. Most policies have benefits for out of network dentists. Sometimes this means that your copay may be a little higher or other restrictions may apply. We do our best to give you a breakdown of your benefits and explain to you how they will work in our office. On rare occasions, your policy may allow you to only see in network dentists.

Are you currently accepting new patients?

Yes! Our office is happy to provide openings to new patients at this time. We can usually reserve a spot in our schedule for a new patient within 1-2 weeks of calling our office to schedule.

As a new patient, how long will my first appointment last?

It’s best to plan between 1 to 1 ½ hours. Your new patient appointment will include time spent with our office staff making sure we have all the proper information for you, followed by your x-rays and comprehensive exam with Dr. Stevenson.

Can I get my teeth cleaned during my first visit?

Your first visit will not include a teeth cleaning with a hygienists. We provide specialized care in cleaning that is based on your history, condition of your teeth, and frequency of your last dental cleaning. Cleaning times with our hygienists can vary based on your history, so we want to plan for the appropriate amount of time based on recommendations from your new patient appointment.

Are you open on the weekends or after 5pm?

Our office is open from 7am-4pm Monday through Friday.

What happens if I have a dental emergency?

If you think you are experiencing a dental emergency, give our office a call and we will determine the severity of your emergency and schedule you accordingly. We make room in our schedule daily for true dental emergencies. If you happen to have a dental emergency after normal office hours, you can leave a message with Dr. Stevenson and he or one of our staff members will contact you as soon as possible.
